Martyn has lived and worked in Cornwall since 1990 specialising in Insolvency and Commercial Litigation.

Martyn previously was an Equity Partner in a large regional firm before joining brains as a Partner in May 2009 to head up the one-stop brains insolvency team.

Martyn is the only solicitor in Cornwall who takes appointments as a fully bonded licensed Insolvency Practitioner, e.g. acting as liquidator, administrator or Trustee in Bankruptcy. Martyn is uniquely placed and qualified to advise businesses and individuals on insolvency options such as IVA’s/CVA’s; liquidations, administrations and Bankruptcy, and also by timely intervention to avoid insolvency if at all possible.

Martyn is the pre-eminent insolvency lawyer in Cornwall, regularly acting for both individuals and companies; advising creditors, debtors and directors and also acting for other Insolvency Practitioners on legal and compliance issues.

Martyn is a highly experienced advocate and handles directors’ disqualification, BRO cases, regularly appears in complex contested realisation cases in the Courts and advises on asset sales; employment issues and ROT claims.

Martyn has successfully secured annulments from Bankruptcy; defended Petitions and has regularly set aside demands for individuals who have received demands for disputed or inflated debts.
